I tried everything for IBS c for 15 years. Consultant sent me to a dietitian and I have following the FODMAP diet for 2 weeks. The improvement is spectacular. Look it up.

I found supplements and probiotics didn't do anything too, so I followed the fodmap diet and had great improvement, but you may not need to follow the complete diet to get results. Items like milk, non gluten bread and junk food etc which are high fodmap are fine for me, but certain vegetables cause me trouble so you need to tailor it to what works for you. I found I was getting pain from Tomatoes which is a low fodmap food so I may have trouble with certain vegetable skins, so its a bit of trial and error really.

thank you for your valuable advice. How to follow Fodmap diet?By the help of a dietitian or  by the help of a guide(book).

I googled about Fodmap but I can't understand it properly.

I didn't have any help but the Dr told me to try it and I kind of figured out what food causes an issue. I avoid certain vegetables and fruits which seem to work for me. You have to try and avoid high fodmap foods and then figure out what might be an issue.

Try this link and have a read:

I find beans, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, apples and some tough skins, seeds cause an issue for me. If you are stuck you should see a specialist really.

Have you been diagnosed with IBS?  Try Imodium or codeine for the diarrhoea. Rice or bananas are also good for this. A food diary or Fodmap should help you to identify food triggers that could be causing diarrhoea.

Sorry to hear that you have had IBS for such a long time.

Write down what foods you have eaten, what time of the day you ate it and any symptoms you got from that food and how long it took before reactions appeared and how long they lasted.  You can get forms to record this online.

I have had IBS since 2015 after getting a dodgy blood test which has never healed.  I am going to see the doctor about my arm at the end of the month to find out what the health care assistant did to it to cause such pain.  I doubt anything can be done about it because I left it too long because I was  concerned that treatment could make the injury worse which often happens with me.

I have eaten morning at 9 rice, dal and some vegetables mixed carry. Then at 2 p.m. watery rice banana, and slight fried veg. At night rice ,dal vegetables.

If I take any trigger foods(say fish,or meat) after 4 days it will come to force and porridge type stools come out and it lasts another 2 days.

Many foods can't do with me. My problem is morning mucus mixed diarrhea 2-3 times.

I have no bloating .I have my right side lower abdominal mild pain.

      Thank you pippa for asking.
