Job Description:

The National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) is currently seeking to fill various positions in the institute. The positions available include:

1. Research Scientist
2. Laboratory Technologist
3. Administrative Officer
4. Accountant
5. Librarian

The responsibilities and duties of each position are as follows:

1. Research Scientist: The Research Scientist will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports. The successful candidate will also be responsible for presenting findings at conferences and publishing research in scientific journals.
2. Laboratory Technologist: The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, analyzing results, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing reports and presenting findings.
3. Administrative Officer: The Administrative Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing meetings, managing schedules, and maintaining records.
4. Accountant: The Accountant will be responsible for managing the institute’s finances. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Job Requirements:

1. Research Scientist:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as microbiology, biochemistry, or molecular biology).
• At least three years of research experience.
• Excellent analytical and research skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

2. Laboratory Technologist:

• A degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or related field.
• At least three years of experience working in a laboratory.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

3. Administrative Officer:

• A degree in Business Administration or related field.
• At least three years of administrative experience.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

4. Accountant:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least three years of experience in accounting.
• Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Librarian:

• A degree in Library Science or related field.
• At least three years of experience working in a library.
• Excellent knowledge of library procedures and cataloging systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• You must possess a letter of release or exemption from NYSC.
• The age limit for people with a high school diploma is 18 to 22; the age limit is 18 to 26 for those with higher education qualifications, such as nurses, NCEs, ONDs, and drivers.
• Every candidate must provide their O’level (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) results. Credit in mathematics and English is necessary.
